To participate in we summer Keacung Program, attend the spring meetings of the courses in which you are interested. Register for the course(s) you wish toake dur ing the summer and complete the course work (meetings, conferences, papers, tests, etc.) in the fall. Grades will be recorded in October. PROCEDURES - RULES - DATES - DEADLINES 1. SPRING MEETINGS - (Attendance is essential for maximum understanding of course objectives) -attend several to be informed of course requirements -"permit to register' cards will be issued by some instructors when attendance at a spring meeting is mandatory -enrollment in each course will be limited 2. GUIDELINES -Approval: Discuss your course selection with your advisor so you will be sure it fits into your degree program. Arts and Science students have a limit of 30 hours of Summer Reading Course and correspondence hours that will apply toward a degree. Architecture students need written approval to register for a summer reading course. -Maximum of Two-only two reading courses can be taken in one summer. A total of 12 credits is maximum for 1980 first summer session, second sum mer session and summer reading course hours. Any exception will require the written approval of the dean of your college. NOTE: Regular day students: If you enroll in daytime summer session courses the second summer session, you will be billed for student fees for these hours and your summer reading hours as a total. -Course Materials: Be sure to obtain all needed books and supplies in May. Bookstores should carry the required materials under the summer reading course number. 3. REGISTRATION ONLY AT THE DIVISION OF CONTINUING STUDIES Where: 511 Nebraska Hall When: Opens at 8 a jn. on Wednesday, April 23 Closes at 5:00 pjn., Friday, May 9 UNIVERSITY OF NEBRASKA-LINCOLN DIVISION OF CONTINUING STUDIES 1980 Summer Reading Course Program Spring Meetings April 7-17 Cost: Full Payment of Tuition is Required at Time of Registration Nebraska Residents $24.00 per credit hour Nonresidents: S65 XK) per credit hour Change of Registration Fee: $5 .00 fee for each change of regis tration including each change to or from PassFail. PASSFAIL: You must mark the registration form PFW for ach course taken under this option. Regular PF rules of your college will apply. NOTE: Some courses have specific PF restrictions. 4. GRADE REPORTING -Completion Date: Required work should be completed by September. -Final Fall contact with instructors will occur in September (nature of this con tact will vary depending on the course). -Grades will be recorded by instructors in October. A DROP -Must be processed through the Division of Continuing Studies -May be filed IN PERSON AT, OR BY LETTER TO, the Division of Continu ing Studies, 5 1 1 Nebraska Hall -Is effective when the notification is received at 51 1 Nebraska Hall -"Without Grade" is possible until 4:00 pjn. on Friday, July 1 1 -"With Grade of W" is acceptable between July 1 1 and September 5 -After September 5, needs signature of the teacher AND your college dean PARTIAL REFUND - before July 1 1 , 1980. NO REFUND - after July 1 1 , 1980. 1) A $10 service charge will be withheld if the DROP notification is filed in person or by letter at the Division of Continuing Studies, 511 Nebraska Hall before 4:00 pm., Friday, July 11, 1980. 2) NO REFUND if the DROP notification is filed (in person or by letter) at the Division of Continuing Studies AFTER 4:00 pjn., FRIDAY, JULY 11, 1980.
