The Huskers, who are the defending NCAA champions, were led by fresh man sensation Phil Cahoy, and 9th world-rated gymnast Jim Hartung; together with Steve Elliott, Mark Williams, Chuck Chmelka, Scott Johnson, Kevin Dunkley, Frank Hibbitts, Jim Winkelmann and Mark Hobson, scored 275.70 points and captured four of six first places. The Huskers will be on the road for their seven remaining intercollegiate meets, before returning home to host the National Champ ionships April 3-5. Coach Allen is optimistic about winning another champion ship. Although loaded with individual talent, the Huskers couldn't have gotten to where they are now without team work. It was just that teamwork, high level of spirit and togetherness that built the team last year, to become champ ions. The spirit is even higher this year. .
