photographers revisited)
As we move quickly into the 1980s, we
have taken a moment to glance back at the
photography of the 70s. The photographs
on this page span 10 years of Daily
Nebraskan work. The photographers have
moved on to new experiences, but the
images they recorded remain .

President Carter was photographed in
Washington in 1976 by Steve Boerner.
Boerner worked for the Daily Nebraskan
until 1978 the year when he. was named
Nebraska Press Association's Student
Photographer of the Year. '
The picturesque barn was shot by Kevin
Higley, who now works for the Times
Union in Rochester, New York.
Ted Kirk shot the photo of Nebraska's
tight end Junior Milier facing off with
Oklahoma's Mike Babb in Nebraska's 1 7-14
win over Oklahoma in 1978. Kirk now
works for the Lincoln United Press Inter
national office, Nebraska Magazine and
Journal Star Printing Co.
t Bill Ganzel, documented UNL anti-war
demonstrations of the early 1970s. Ganzel;
with a grant from the Nebraska Committee
for the Humanities now is working on a
photo documentary project.
GanzePs project was featured in a four
page spread in the August Life Magazine.
The New York Times and the Today Show
also have contracted him.
Mike Tlieiler, now a UP1 photographer
in Tel Aviv, shot the unusual picture of the
young woman in at the 1977 Mardi Gras.
