monday, november 12, 1979 daily nebraskan page 9 Dancers for Passers-By end shows The final performance of Dances for Pa Cfr.R' lira a part Architectural Dance Scries will be Wednesday at -7 p.m. Co-directors, Marguerite Fishman and Irene Wachtel have lived the past month at the UNL East Union choreo graphing and rehearsing the commissioned work "Oi Yoi Yoi!" The dance reflects the student union through a series of vignettes in different areas of the main lobby. Audience members will watch from the stairs and have a chance to sing along for the finale. Hank's music lives The late Hank Williams will come to life in a Canadian actor's one-man show, Nov. 15 and 16 in Omaha. . . Pete "Sneezy" Waters, an actor from Ottowa, fronts a four-man group portraying the late country music star's life and music. The performance setting is the night of Dec. 31, 1952, the day before Williams died. "Hank Williams; The Show He Never Gave" was written by Maynard Collins especially for Waters, and toured Canada to rave reviews last year. The Omaha performance is the third American appear ance for the show, following its debut in the American Theater in St. Louis and a one-night show in Rapid City, Iowa. - After Omaha, the show will travel to Kansas City . Wichita, Detroit and Denver. Hank Williams is acknowledged as the father of modern country music. In the late 1940s, he was the first to blend bluegrass and country music with pop music forms, creating a sound that still survives. The evening concert starts in the Loft (3rd floor of the union) with dances from the company's repertoire, "Graph for Action," "Scarf Dance no. 2," "Dance for Bebe," "Dead Cat," and "Weeping Water," and ends in the lobby with "Oi Yoi Yoi!" The Special Events Committee of the University Pro gram Council East is sponsoring this and additional per formances of the architectural dance in conjunction with the Arts and Crafts Fair. Performance times are Tuesday, 11:15 ajii. and 12:30 p.m. and Wednesday, 12:3Q.p.m. and 7 pjn. Admission is free and the public is invited.
