Fraternity reactivates an escort service

Another happened in the spring of 1978. Jane Fonda
appeared on campus, which prompted the local Young
Americans for Freedom to send letters to state conser
vatives who, in turn, pressured the regents who cut off
student funds for speakers. No amount of outrage could
change their minds. -

dent government at Abel-Sandoz is trying to get an escort
service established for their complex.
Kumpost noted that Abel-Sandoz has had an escort
service in the past" and that it has worked very well.
Karen Kuzcmarski, residence director at Pound Hall,
said that the Cather-Pound-Neihardt Complex does not
have an established escort service.
MWe are working with the UNL police on slide presen
tations: which advise women on how to avoid being attack
ed and what to do if they are attacked," she said. The
slide presentations soon will be shown on the Pound
floors.
. Kuzcmarski emphasized that women should not walk
alone at night if at all possible.
"Invite a friend to go with you or make arrangements
for someone to escort you home from a class. Stay in
well-lit areas and don't loiter along the street-keep your
mind on where you are going," she said.
Efaine Green, director of the Cather-Pound-Neihardt
Complex, advised women not to be on campus alone at
night and to take precautions to avoid attack.
