Anderson has had extensive architectural and educational experience as a partner in the firm of Anderson, Beckwith and Haibile from 1937 to 1972 and on the faculty of MIT from 1947 to 1971. In his experiments, he plans to test subjects' ability to con centrate attention on one portion of a visual display, as well as their ability to ignore irrelevant or distracting informat tion." He will conduct 20 to 30 projects in volving two different computers using slides, shutters and a CRT oscilloscope, to which subjects respond vocally or by pres sing a button. Some of his subjects will be coming in for 10 days, one hour dally to participate in his experiments.
