This Is totally out of character for him to'disappear like this," his father said, adding that Tom seemed happy and anxious to get back to school. , Lancaster County Attorney Ron Lahners said his office was acting on the assumption that foul play was Involved "Primarily weVe going on the fact that it seems to be a break in his pattern of living,' Although Cyth's grades had slipped from the 3.8 grade point average he had maintained as a sophomore, his father said the reason was his additional responsibilities at Ws fraternity, Sigma Alpha Epsilon. The senior from Beatrice had been social chairman his junior year, according to Bill Eyth, and "perhaps he took it too seriously. His grades had slipped some." However, his father said, Eyth had taken two summer courses, getting an A in one, a B in the other. s "We have a very good discussion about grades, Eyth said. "He seemed very enthused about coming back to school. But he failed to show upYor the first day of classes. On Aug. 26 he had moved from an apartment he lived in during the summer back to the fraternity house, and then disappeared. Uhners encouraged anyone with information concern ing Eyth s disappearance to contact police. He promised to keep the information confidential if requested. He haj been Very particular about his appearance and person al hygiene.1 Its just Inconceivable to me that he would leave without taking anything." V . - ' f.i-i. , 1" "i'.S : 1 Thomas A.
