MY MIND BECAME filled with an unpredictable drunkenness of air as I tried not to concentrate on my protesting lungs or my faltering knee joints. All I could do was to keep moving. I kept going. Then, it was over and, with smiles, my friends were congratulat ingme. I had finished. My friend was already there, having finished much earlier. Another friend shouted "Yav Alice!"
