Free University will ho longer be a duty of ASUN. The
senate passed a resolution turning over Free University to
the University Prograni Council.
Second Vice-President Kim Weiland said that the
Free University did not take place this year because there
were problem! finding someone to chair Fred University
and getting instructors to teach the courses.
"It (Free University) hasn't had a lot of success for the
last two years" Weiland said. She added that a maximum
of 300 peopld tised Free University in the last few years.
Seri. Gail Casteel laid that UPC Was willing to tak
responsibility . for Free , University. The Senate
appropriated UPC $100 for the advertising of Free
University.
A student migration to Oklahoma for the Novem
ber football game between Nebraska and Oklahoma is
planned for next year as a result Of a resolution passed.
Belt said there were advantages to having a migration
to the Oklahoma game. It IS over Thanksgiving a'nd a
migration guarantees UNL students 20 percent of the
tickets to the game, he laid. Bob Devaney said there may
be a possibility that the game will not be televised,
Belt said. - ,
The senate approved appropriating Student Legal Set
vices $17,803 for the attorney's salary, the secretary's
salary and expenses.
The senate also approved spending $1500 for
ASUN summer allowances.
Executive salaries were approved by the senate.
President Cuca will receive $160 a month September
through April and $80 a month May through August.
First Vice President Hubert Brown and Second Vice
President Kim Weiland both will receive $140 a month
September through April and $70 a month May through
August.
