frlday, march 10,1979 dally nebraskan pagsB B eniiett receives extended medical leave of absence 1 The medical leave of absence granted to Nebraska Un ion Director Allen Bennett In February has been ex tended by Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs Richard Armstrong. Armstrong said he has extended Bennett's leave 90 more days on the recommendation of the director's physi cian. Bennett was scheduled to return to his position after March 1. Armstrong said Bennett now will return at the end of May or the beginning of June. However, he may return sooner if his physician recom mends it. said Daryl Swan son, associate director of the union and Nebraska East Union manager. Swanson said in February that Bennett's health Summer correction On Thursday, the Daily Nebraskan ran a story on the Union Board meeting which had an error. The story read that the Board changed the union's weekly hours during the first and second summer sessions from 9:00 ajn. to 9:30 ajn. Actually, the union will be open during the two ses sions between 7:00 a.m. and 9:30 pjn. The Dally Nebraskan regrets the error. problem was stress related. He told the Daily Nebraskan that Bennett has had a history of stress related problems. Appointed by Armstrong, Swanson is acting as the director of the unions. Swanson appointed Dean Young, Food Service manager of the east union . The union will continue to run as usual without Bennett , Armstrong said . The union management and the Union Board will continue to review recommendations made in the Touche Ross report, Swanson said. The Touche-Ross report Is an audit that discusses union problems and recommends changes to solve them .
