Ferhtps thots who attended Rabin1! lecture tbout the peace prospect! in the Middle East were stunned when he tried- to '.describe the Middle East conflict as being t Unique conflict In the whole world. Before we make our comment about this uniqueness, we would like to remind you of the story of the man who murdered hi! victim and came to participate in buryina and eulogizing him. And the story of the man who stols and then participated in tracking down the thief. That'll exactly what Yitzhak Rabin waa doing. . He tried to make every person believe that the heart of the conflict In the Middle East is the rejection by all of the Arab countries of the existence of Israel. Until this point, it seems really a unique conflict. Hence, the quest fon now is how reasonable Is this rejection of the Arab countries? To every simple-minded person, the problem is self evident. Israel is a small country, surrounded by 18 Arab countries who want to push her into the sea. According to this argument, we should be sympathetic and support Israel because of Us vulnerable position. This emotional type of appeal is exactly why weVe been hear tag for the last 30 years. And that's exactly how Rabin and his Zionist regime misled the whole world. Let's look back at the history of the Zionist move ment, Rabin and his associated initiated the Zionist move ment immigration to Palestine and convinced Jewish citizens in every country to believe that, according to their Biblethey had a homeland in Palestine. This movement worked hard to encourage Jewish immigration into Palestine during the British mandate and after the creation of the state of Israel By driving the original Arab citizens out of their home; and land, the Zionists, succeeded in increasing the population of Jews in Palestine and announcing their state, v . We would like also to comment about Monday's editorial written by Anne Carothers, in which she accuses the Arab and Iranian student! of interrupting and annoy ing the audience and the speaker. Hiere were several Americans who made outbursts when confronted with, Rabin's blatant lies. We hope now we are to be perceive the uniqueness of this conflict and who created it. What Rabin was saying was not a surprise because for him and his Zionist colleag ue lying, clieatlrah stealing are a way of life. By skirt ing the main Issue involved in the Middle East conflict, he Illustrated this, tradition. He ignored completely the fact that there are people who are living now as refugees wait trig for the time when they will be allowed to return to their homes. a it was clear that Rabin attempted to avoid answering as many questions as possible by wasting as much time ai he could by talking around the few that were powd. We think It is about time that American citizen! stopped buy ing the emotional appeals put forth by Israel and become aware of the facts In the Middle East conflict. Rabin, in stating that Israel won the four wars by It self, downplayed 30 yean of military and economic support from the American government. He Ignored about one-and-a-half million Palestinian refugees living In tents. He skirted the major issues and bypassed the heart of the Middle East conflict-this very unique conflict.
