Fewer mix-ups reported Although you might have arrived in room 319 Burnett last week for History 101 and found the room empty, univer sity officials are reporting few schedul ing mix-ups this semester. Director of Registration and Records Ted Pfeifer said his office has not re ceived a complaint this semester regard ing room assignment or other scheduling mix-ups. A spot check of departments also shows no unusual problems with class assignments. Problems have been "fairly routine," according to David Gitlitz, chairman of the modern languages department. "We've had to do some switching of sections . . . folded a section here and added a section there," he said. Some students were left out of classes by the changes, but that is normal each semester, he said. Minor problems, such as two classes assigned to the same room are often worked out among the faculty members themselves, he said. The College of Business Admini stration, which had overcrowding prob lems last fall, reported few problems the first week of the semester. "We didn't have the horrendous problems we had last fall Arthur Kraft, associate dean of the college, said. "We've become more efficient," he said. By requiring business students to have their preregistration forms stamped by college officials, less overcrowding from students who have not fulfilled prerequisites has resulted, he said. AH graduating seniors were able to get the classes they needed, he said. Although students were able to get the classes they requested, they often had to take them at times later in the afternoon, he said. However, many classrooms have been filled to capacity by expanded enroll ment, he said. "It's hard to complain if you can get a class, even if it isn't at the optimal time," Kraft said. The math department also reports few problems. "We used to have (scheduling prob lems) years ago," said staff assistant Carol Portsche. But a new room clerk has solved most of the problems, she said. Only one conflict has been reported so far in the math department, she said. ASUN agenda ASUN will meet at 7 pjn. today in the Nebraska East Union. Room be posted. (CFA By-laws) number will VIII. The design by architects Bahr Vern Vermeer and Haecker, Ltd. of Lincoln and Omaha, will increase the usable space at the college to 95,800 square feet, while retaining the existing Architectural Hall and the Former Law building adjacent to the college. The new wing will encircle Former Law. The design was awarded to the Nebraska architects for their recognition of the value of existing buildings, while confronting the need to expand the college. Students 'lift' parking space Five university students may have found a solution to the parking shortage on the UNL campus, but at least one person wili have to go to court because of it. According to UNL police, five persons in a single car were unable to find a parking space in area 3, on Y street late Monday. So, according to the witnesses, the five picked up a Honda Civic, removed it from its parking space, and put their car in its place. Police charged the driver, who will appear in court (today), with criminal mis chief. There was minor damage to the bumper of the Honda.
