Jazz closes with another offering by Taylor, called
"More of that Jazz," which sums up the album neatly.
Instead of taking the time to construct a piece interweav
ing the melodies of some of the songs on the album,
Taylor inserts brief excerpts of several numbers on top of
a repetitive one chord theme, making the song sound
more like a self -parody than anything else.
It is unfortunate that Queen's superstar status will
probably carry them through albums like Jazz without
losing any credibility. Now that they have achieved the
degree of success that their earlier work merited, they
seem content to rest on their laurels. It is a shame that the
freedom that financial success has afforded Queen could
not have inspired them to produce an album worthy of
their talents.
