I was very concerned as a student at
UNL to read about the Friday demonstra
tion. Unfortunately, what caught my
attention was a letter from a student
named K. Bloom. He talked about being
"disturbed" by the Arab students display.
I don't think it was disturbing unless some
one doesn't like the Arabs to express them
selves. He was talking about a cause and he
calls the Palestinian condition despicable.
I wonder what kind of student he is who
calls all Palestinians and their cause despic
able. I don't think the Arabs or Palestinians
Arabs want to push Israel into the ocean.
The want, as the posters have shown, is
a democratic Palestinian State for Jews,
Moslems, and Christians.
It is not a struggle of two people to sur
vive. It is a struggle of the Palestinians to
return to their homeland. I hope that all
people will live in peace and harmony
after they give the Palestinians their rights.

Ellsberg and other speakers to provide
more programming opportunities and to
foster the free exchange of ideas.

Donations needed
Students have the opportunity to
directly control an important part of the
extra-curricular activities: Speakers, bring
ing to this campus the provocative issues
of our time, have been funded in the past
by mandatory student fees and are now
funded by direct student donation.
Thursday's program, Vietnam in
perspective: Part II, was funded in this
manner as the Talks and Topics Committee

On Thursday, Dec. 3, Daniel Ellsberg
will be speaking at 10 a.m. in the Schramm
Hall main lounge in addition to his Union
appearance.
It was not RHA's intention that this
program be limited to residence hall stu
dents or to residents of Harper-Schramm-

to the Talks and Topics Committee in the
hope that they can survive despite their
surmounting financial inadequacies.
If the university community is to
continue to enjoy a speaker program
comparable or better in quality to that of
other universities, individual students and
organizations must recognize the need to
contribute what they can to the present
Talks and Topics Committee's efforts.
