friday, October 13, 1978 daily nebraskan page 19 'Poor Baylor Bears' hopeful for a win and end to misery Predictions by Rick Those poor Baylor Bears. Some teams may have had a tougher four game start this year, but none endured the tough luck Baylor has. First, three road games resulted in losses totaling 1 2 points. Georgia did the first damage, 16-14. Kentucky added to Baylor's misery, edging the Bears 25-21. Then Ohio State pulled out a 34-28 victory. Back home in Waco, Texas last week, Baylor ran into an improving Houston team. The Bears dropped to 0-4 by losing a 20-18 conference decision. For some teams things don't get easier. One week after Baylor fell short at Ohio State, Southern Methodist tied the Buckeyes 35-35. This week's opponent. . . the SMU Mustangs. The misery ends. . . Baylor 30, SMU 21. Big eight games: Colorado at Oklahoma State-Another team to feel sorry for is the Cowboys. Put an 0-5 team against a 5-0 team and what do you get? An upset. Wrong. . . Colorado 21, Oklahoma State 12. Iowa State at Missouri-Cyclones have to be hurting after last week and will face another strong offense at Columbia. Every one's picking Missouri so. . . Missouri 23, Iowa State 14. Oklahoma at Kansas- Both teams are suffering injuries, but Kansas might hope the Sooners have a few more by Satur day. . . Oklahoma 52, Kansas 14. Kansas State at Nebraska-Probably the best KSU team the Huskers have faced in a 1970 Opel Kadett. 29,000 miles. New battery tune up.
