Interest in the festivities surfaced just long enough to elect a man for homecoming queen or a dormitory custodian for homecoming king before sinking back into depths of student apathy. This remains the case at many schools across the nation, but a growing number have revitalized their home coming celebrations and found overwhelming student support. A Daily Nebraskan poll of the Big Eight Conf erence schools found four such homecoming bashes. At the University of Colorado at Boulder reports of homecoming interest have been positive. Flying buffalo chips "We've had a revival of homecoming, with toga parties, buffalo chip throwing and beer chugging contests, a pep rally, spirit bonfire, parade, king and queen, the whole shot," according to Jeff Morgan, managing editor of the Colorado Daily. "It's been like 15 years since we've had something like this and the main sponsors of this year's homecoming has been the black fraternity." John Henner of the University of Oklahoma's Daily Oklahoman said OU's homecoming was "pretty tradition al stuff." "Homecoming is still pretty big and pretty popular here, there's not the apathy you'd find in a lot of other places." Continued on Page 1 3 1 HOMECOMING 78 Ethnic Booths 1.
