Exon's hiring of two persons associated with Exon's office equipment company to state government jobs. Although Shasteen said he has no evi dence of any sales by J. J. Exon Co. to the state government, he said the fact that Delmar C. Maier served as an officer of the J. J. Exon firm while working in the state division of administrative services, the state government agency in charge of purchas ing, was improper. Shasteen also questioned Exon s hiring of his secretary, Fran White, whose husband, C. Exon Co. David, is a director of J.J. daily nebraskan Publication No. 14480 Editor in chief: Carla Engstrom. Shasteen also said he has given state ments to U.S. Attorney Ed Warin regarding his charges that a letter from the Exon firm was sent to Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Services offices around the state at taxpayer expense. Shasteen had earlier said he had been told by two unidentified ASCS employers that the letters had been mailed from the agency's Lincoln office under a federal frank. However, the Lincoln Journal reported Saturday that a copy of the letter and envelope shown to the paper's reporter bore a machine stamp from the stamping machine used by the Exon firm. Exon and members of his firm have also submitted affidavits to Warin denying Shasteen's charges. Exon told a Democratic fund raiser in Omaha Friday that the Shasteen tactics will not be accepted by the people of Ne braska. He told United Press International that the charges "are without foundation what soever with regard to wrongdoing. Exon also said the relationships of the two employees to the firm had been pub licized and that the J J.jixon Co. has done no business with the state since he has been governor as he had pledged before his 1970 election. Identification wrong Because of an error in an announcement from the office of Hal Daub, Republican congressional candidate in the 2nd District, Pat Haller was incorrectly identified as 1976 state chairman for President Gerald Ford. Haller was Ford's Douglas County chairman. (o Regular (12") Pizza with pepperoni, mushrooms or ground beef plus TWO 16 oz.
