Gerald Ford endorses Daub
Former President Gerald Ford has
endorsed 2nd Congressional District Re
publican nominee Hal Daub, it was
announced Thursday.
At a news conference, former Ford state
chairman Pat Haller read a letter from Ford
telling Daub of the endorsement.
"I just wanted to you to know how
proud I am of your efforts and that I
whole-heartedly endorse your candidacy
for the United' States Congress," Ford
wrote.
"I know of the tremendous progress
your campaign has made in the 2nd
District in Nebraska. I am confident that
you will capture this seat for us In Novem
ber and that you will serve your district
and this country well."
Daub said he felt the endorsement by
Ford would aid his campaign and "it
also means a lot to me personally."
"When things like this start happening,
you realize your work means something
and that you're really making progress,"
Daub said.
Daub is opposing incumbent Democrat
John Cavanaugh, in the 2nd District race.
