for a week at the 1978 Cheyenne Frontier Days.
In July cowboys poured in from all over the
country to the rodeo billed as "the daddy of 'em
all." Over 1 ,000 competed and some paid entry
fees as high as $200 for purses up to $12,330.
"Cowboys seek the freedom of the circuit and
have little financial security. They pay their own
way," a rodeo official said.
