Nebraska Repertory Theatre actors offer a glimpse into the world of marionettes, wind-up dolls and toy soldiers in the musical. The Wind-Up War. The musical, written by theatre mem ber Douglas Anderson, was presented for the Lincoln Action Program last week, and performances will continue in and around Lincoln until Aug. 19. The enchanting world of songs and games is clouded by the dastardly deeds of a mysterious villain. The villain turns out to be the mischevious Jack-in-the-Box, who is aided by his henchman, the toy blocks. Their sehanigans lead to a slap stick war of the toys. After the smoke clears, the audience discovers the cause of the villain's discontent, and everyone including the villain live happily ever after.
