thursday, may 4, 1978 ad lib page 7 Six-day auction gets underway About 2,000 items will have been on the television auction block by the time the Nebraskans for Public Tele vision complete their major fund raiser of the year, Auc tion 78. The six-day effort, which began May 2, will run each evening, beginning at 6 p.m., through Sunday, May 7. Items and services each worth more than $30 in donor value will be auctioned off via television to tfje highest telephone bidders from across the state. This fifth annual event features items from more than 50 communities in Nebraska where Auction 78 "Go Getter" workers solicited merchandise and services from businessmen and individuals. Some of the major items to be auctioned this year in clude an original artist's proof of the Cybis porcelain sculpture, Narcissus; a Spode proqelain planter, and an original oil painting by Oscar Sormani, nationally known Omaha artist. Other items include a collector's football from the nowjdefunct World Football League, an antique phone booth, a clippership cruise, two days and three nights at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas, and a weekend at Kansas City, Missouri.
