Daylight-saving time takes effect a 2 a.m. Sunday. Clocks should be turned ahead one hour Saturday night. UNL Homecoming 1978 is in the planning stages and hopefully will "turn out to be a bigger and better event than it has been in the past," according to Mike Meyer, Corncobs president and co-chairperson of the homecoming planning com mittee. In the past, the Corncobs and Tassels have sponsored the event but now will share the responsibility with several other campus organizations. Representatives from these organiza tions make up the coordinating committee for homecoming activities, he said. The committee was established by an ad hoc committee earlier in the year to "get more input for more involvement on campus," Meyer said. Meyer said a campus group or groups would sponsor a homecoming activity but all the coordinating groups would help. The Student Alumni Board plans to put up a large tent on Oct. 14, homecoming morning, whch would offer students and alumni such things as ethnic desserts, a barbecue, and stage performances among rtiar thinnc Ron Dahlke, Union Program Council president, suggested a concert at the Sports Complex by a group popular enough to attract 10,000 to 14,000 people. The concert would be advertised for UNL homecoming and would be sponsored by UPC. The idea still is tentative, he said. Panhellenic and the Intrafraternity Council plans to sponsor a homecoming display and window decorating contest for anyone who wishes to enter. Corncobs and Tassels will be in charge of homecoming candidates, according to Kathy Vogt, Tassels president and co chairperson for the homecoming coordinat ing committee. Groups helping to plan homecoming include: Corncobs, Tassels, Residence Hall Association, Student Alumni Board, UNL Marching Band, Intrafraternity Council, Panhellenic, ASUN, Inter Co-op Council, Union Program Council, East Union Pro gram Council, the UNL Athletic depart ment, and the Office of University Information. i i i , Tve got fhbst Blue Ribbon on mymind" 4 i; 0Y 1HC flNtST 9t HOU AN SWAINS AW W $&MJwLixittmtJto 1844 J 'dap w J 4S3teT calendar 9:30 a.m.- Student Affairs staff, Nebraska Union 243. 10 a.m.- Nebraska School Public Relations Associa tion, Nebraska Union Pewter Room.
