I r": ' , ' Omaha Ballet portrays life of returned POW on public TV program A dramatic two-person ballet about a POW return ing home from the Vietnam war features members of the Omaha Ballet in They're Coming Home airing Fri day, April 7 at 9:30 p.m. on the Nebraska ETV Net work. Thomas Enckell, artistic director of the Omaha Ballet, choreographed the ballet and dances the part of the husband. Katharyn Home dances the part of the wife. The program will be repeated Tuesday, April 18, at 8:30 p.m. They're Coming Home tells of a POW, who, after a joyous reunion with his wife, facts the burden ci readjusting to freedom and marriage amid his men ories of the war. The program was produced by the cultural affairs unit of University of Nebraska Television with Gene Bunge as producer and Linda Elliott as director. Friday & Saturday matinees at 3 p.m. Admission $2.00. Community Concerts season planned Music and dance com prise the 1978-79 Lincoln Community Concerts Asso ciation season. The five-part program has been an nounced by Sandy Rowson, publicity chairman for the association. The first performer will be pianist Floyd Cramer. His concert is set for Oct. 5. Cramer has performed with many major artists including Perry Como, Paul Anka, AI Hirt, Chet Atkins and was featured on every RCA re cording by Elvis Presley. Clarinetist Pete Fountain is featured on Nov. 6. He began playing clarinet at the age of 10 in New Orleans. As a young man he played in many top spots of the city's French Quarter. While a little go a lou on a concert tour in 1957, he was persuaded to join the Lawrence Welk television show. Fountain appeared with Welk for two years and then quit to open his own club in New Orleans. The Pete Fountain Club is now the featured attraction of the New Orleans Hilton Hotel. The third event, set for Nov. 26, is a production of the musical hit, Side By Side By Sondheim, a dazz ling collection of composer Stephen Sondheim 's greatest hits. The show cur rently is a Broadway sellout and includes music from A Little Night Music, Follies, Gypsy, West Side Story, Company and other adults, $8 students and $38 families (which includes two adults and all students through high school). New members also will be able to attend the last concert of the 1977-78 season, Les Brown and the Band of Re nown in a salute to the late Glenn Miller on May 4th. There will be no tickets sold for individual perfor mances, according to Rowson, and no member ships will be sold after the ticket drive ends. Member ship cards are mailed to members in September. The Russian Festival of Dance is set for March 14, 1979. The company in cludes 85 dancers and 14 musicians who perform na tive Russian dances to instrumental accompani ment. The final concert will be April 18 by the Tapiola Children's Choir and Or chestra of Finland. The en semble of 50 was first or ganized in 1963 by Erikki Pohjola, the group's conduc tor. The Tapiola children are on their first extended tour and have received ac claim throughout the world. They also appeared with Danny Kaye on the 1977 UNICEF television special.
