Brockelman, hired by Sol Gerardi
(Nehemiah Persoff) to bid on a
1953 Studebaker, is nearly forced
out of the bidding by two mean
looking bruisers until they bitterly
exhaust their funds.
Brockelman delivers the car to
Gerardi, only to discover that his
client intends to have the auto
reduced to a cube of tortured steel
about the size of a bale of hay. Just
as it is about to be crushed, the
bidding twosome muscles in and
seizes it.
