The slate of ASUN candidates is complete. Three parties have registered candidates for the election: ARF -A ReaJ Force, POOR Pour One Down the Hatch for the Regents and SOAR -Students Organized for Active Representation. ARF, according to presidential candi date Lyle George, "will represent people who think the whole university is a farce," defending those who do not care. The junior agricultural economics major from Dixon said he will do as little as pos sible because students do not want any thing. SOAR, presidential candidate Ken Marienau said, wants "strong representa tion at the regents level", and will en courage involvement in city politics. The party will push for voting student regents, a voter registration drive and an expanded ASUN book exchange that will include Fast Campus. POOR will be apathetic "since moct students are apathetic," said first vice-presidential candidate Steve Mills. POOR plans to sell the student regents' ten free football tickets to the highest bidder and "throw a big party for the uni versity." Mills said. They also support a Fund B audit, equal representation be tween the city and Fast Campus and a liberal parking violations review board. Candidates for executive offices are: President: Jim Bachman (POOR), Charles Fngh, Lyle George (ARF) and Ken Marienau (SOAR). First vice president: Mark Meysenburg (ARF), Steve Mills (POOR) and Bob Moodie (SOAR). Second vice president: Tim Creger (ARF), Scott Ballentine (SOAR), Cheryl Benes (ARF), Rick Berkshire (POOR) and Karen Rosendahl (ARF). Senatorial candidates include: College of Agriculture: Gene Bloom, Don Cain (SOAR), Paul Canaday, Mark IRA terrorist gives up guns; says sickened by hotel killing Belfast, Northern Ireland -A young Irish Republican Army terrorist walked into St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church in Dublin Thursday, entered the confessional and. handing over two loaded handguns to the priest, told him he was through being a gunman. associated press I datelines I H.e man, whose identity the priest is obligated to keep secret, said he was sickened by the killing of 12 men and women in a Belfast hotel turned into an inferno by a homemade IRA napalm bomb. Carter faces big 10-4 Washington President Carter is faced with a dilemma that could affect the pocketbooks of most CB'ers no matter what he does. American CB radio manufactures threatened, they say, with exteinction are seeking a 50 percent increase in tariffs. Correction The Daily Nebraskan. in its Feb. 22 issue, incorrectly reported the identity of Mary O'Connor, who is running for ASUN senator. She is a College of Arts and Sciences student from Sioux City, Iowa If Carter agrees and imposes higher duties to keep lower-priced imports out of the country, the prices we pay for CB's are expected to rise considerably. If he disagrees and continues the cur rent rate of imports, U.S. manufacturers contend they will run out of business. The result, they say: no competition to keep foreign CB prices from rising. And, they warn, thousands of U.S. workers would be added to the ranks of the jobless. daily . nebrask Publication No. 14480 Editor in chief: Ron Ruggless. Managing editor: Betsie Ammons.
