J Continued from p. 1
; Gary Gflger, program advisor for the Nebraska Union,
" said there is no doubt the Union Program Council wiB be
paying royalty fees on any concerts it presents after Jan.
1, but added that he has no idea where the money will
come from. -
GQger speculated that the added cost of royalty fees
.could be absorbed in higher admission prices of taken out
of the Union's budget. " - -
Byron Knight, assistant program manager for NETV.
said that since NEW broadcasts only music that has been
composed for the station, they are able to avoid royalty
fees. -
At KRNU, UNL's radio station, program manager
Larry Walklin said he has not given the new laws enough
review to predict their impact on the station's operations.
However, Walklin said KRNU will see no immediate
effects of the revised laws when they take effect Jan. 1.
Productions at the Howell and University Theatres
escape the brunt of the new laws because most Theatre
Dept. performances are not-musicals, according to Pat
Overton, public relations promoter.
"We'll have to pay for promoting a play by musical
works on TV," Overton said, adding that she anticipates
little change after Jan. 1.

ANOTHER KIND OF AUTUMN
Loren Eiseley
A new collection of poems by one of our
country's most distinguished writers.
This new collection of poems by the
renounded anthropologist and literary
naturalist is a volume to be cherished.
Once again, through his poetry Loren
Eiseley gives us the key to an understand
ing of the past and present, animal and
man, all of Creation as one and insepar
able. Once again, we see the lessons to be
learned from remains and evocations of
lost civilizations and from man's en
counter with other living things. Once
again, we can see the poet's deep
affection for the living world and his
respect for worlds that have passed-and
the importance of both to man's human
ity. $3.95
