another by booting a 55-yard field goal in the third
quarter. The distance tied Paul Rogers' record against the
University of Kansas in 1971. The kick was Todd's 12th
this season breaking Rogers' record of 1 1 .
Husker wingback Curtis Craig, who rushed for 54
yards and two touchdowns, said it was a great way to end
his college career in Memorial Stadium. ,
'This whole week at practice was tough knowing that
this would be the last game I played here," he added.
"The fans here were great and I will remember that for
ever." Craig was iust one of 23 Huskers making their final
appearance in Memorial Stadium Saturday.
However, for UNL cornerback Ted Harvey, the home
finale did not end the way ne had planned. Harvey, a.
senior from Lexington, .was forced to leave the game in
the first quarter with a separated shoulder.
Harvey said UNL trainers did not know if the injury
would keep him out for the rest of the season.
"Yea, it's a disappointing way to go out at home,"
Harvey said. "There's not a whole lot you can say or do
about it though. People have had it a lot worse off than
me.
The game against the Sooners Nov. 25, in Norman will
decide the Big 8 Conference Orange Bowl representative.
The Huskers must beat the Sooners to share the Big 8
. title.
