The Daily Nebraskan incorrectly reported Friday that
Prof. Mary EUen Rudin would speak today on
mathematics at 10:30. She will speak at 1 1 :30.
Also, the panel discussion scheduled for 8 pjn. has
been moved to 7 :30 p jn.
It also was incorrectly reported that 22 of 440 life

" Citizens for the Civic Center are canvassing 90 voting
precincts to educate Lincolnites about the Civic Center,
Bond issue, according to Civic Center Corporation Execu
tive Director Art Thompson.
The bond issue election Nov. 8 would finance renova
tion of the old city hall and old federal building,
Thompson said.
The two buildings would be joined by a performing
arts theatre and the buildings would be used for city
offices he siid
The' Civic Center Corporation, which owns the two
buildings, will give them to the city if the bond issue
passes. " '
If the bond issue fails and the corporation decides not
to push for another bond issue, the city has an option to
buy the buildings from the corporation for the purchase
price of $695 ,000, Thompson said.
In that case, the money would be returned to the
Woods Foundation and the NU Foundation, which donat
ed money to the corpofation to buy the buildings, he said.
Citizens for the Civic Center has two paid staff
members and over 500 volunteers to distribute informa
tion about the bond issue in 90 of the 175 city precincts,
Thompson said. '
In addition to telephone canvassing and distributing
brochures about the bond issue, Citizens for the Civic
Center have a slide presentation, and they are planning an
advertising campaign to educate voters about the bond
issue, Thompson said.
