According to Ned Hedges, assistant vice chancellor for academic affairs and task force member, the group's first job "is to try to identify all of the areas in which we have a relationship with a state agency." Before the ruling, many university projects, needed approval by state agencies, Hedges said. Building contracts from the State Department of Administrative Services are an example, he said. The ruling means these procedures need to be reevaluated, he said. University staff members on the three campuses have received a task force survey to detennine what relation ships exist between the university and state agencies. staff members are instructed to continue reporting to the agencies as betore, Hedges said. When the survey is tabulated "we can examine these relationships and policies in detail as to whether they should be changed, and if so, how" Hedges said. The task force hopes to report to NU President Ronald Roskens by January 1 , Hedges said. "We don't make the policy," he said, "we suggest who should devlop it." "I suspect there are some things that are going to need change," he said. "I don't see anything drastic. I think the changes will basically be procedural." Representatives from UNL, the University of Nebraska at Omaha and the NU Medical Center serve on the task force, he said Fl hi pit of SOCKS dfh farcbia of Basblkl Sbas A!l sizes c:!:rs d&s O Fans o dks o central Ifcrfd Offer 1213 'Q' St. In The Glass Menagerie Alh!stes Foot i - union Noon - Chancellor's Of fice-Luncheon, room 203 4:30 p jn, - Daily Nebras kan, room 243 5:30 pan.
