His problem is, not too many people know him. He and his family are traveling across Nebraska in a 26-foot red and white motor home marked in large , letters, "VOTE FOR STAN." His campaign strategy is to "make people know who I am and that I'm the best man for the job." He said he's traveled 19,000 miles in six weeks. Juelfs, 48, was born on a ranch in Cheyenne County He and his family moved to Kimball in 1960. "Nebraska's been real good for me" he said. "I want to do something for it." Juelfs is involved in crude oil production, gener al insurance and has 10 years of banking experience. "1 consider myself a busi ness man," he said; '".Ne--braska is a big business and should b run like a busi ness." One of his concerns is apathy, "We need t6 get many, many more people con cerned and involved in gov ernment," he 'said. "We're rapidly losing thejfree out of freedom and the free out of free enterprise" He said people are over regulated, "There are more regula tions and regulators than we can handle or altord ," Instead of complaining about the situation, Juelfs said he is running for ? governor so he can do some thing about it," Agriculture would be his primary concern is elected governor, he said, Agriculture "is a sick child that needs help, It needs a shot of medicine he said. "The government needs to give more help than they are giving," he said. The gubernatorial road is not an easy one. Already two candidates have filed and two others recently an nounced their candidacy, The most recent was U.S. Senator Charles Thone. Juelfs comment on Thone was, "He's done an cxvilent job in Congress. It's a pity he didn't stay there." He said he thought Thone could best help Ne (braskans by continuing his work in Congress. "I can't figure out why he wants to come back down the ladder," Juelfs said.
