Atrium . . .

The Atrium is housed in a sixty-year-old structure at
the corner of 13th and N Stteets, formerly the home of
Sears and Roebuck and the National Bank of Commerce.
The building, built in 1917, was originally occupied by
the Rudge and Guenzel Dept. Store.
Eventually, a skywalk system connecting stores along
0 St. will be built through the second level of The
Atrium. The skywalk will run from Brandeis to The
Centrum, a second retail development, to the Atrium and
end at Magee's.
About 75 per cent of this space has been leased so far
but there is room for about 30 shops, he said. The shops
will include: Ben Simon's; five women's clothing stores,
Joffe's, Peck and Peck, The Limited, The Daisy, and The
Wardrobe; Cristell's, a custom jewelry store; Anthony's
a contemporary shoe stop; The Great Gyro, a specialty

Office space
Office spaces have been leased by the accounting firm
of Miller and Moore; Lincoln Electric System, and the law
firm of Nelson, Harding, Yeutter, Leonard and Tate.
Of the stores which opened Monday, Ben Simon's is
the largest with 17,000 square feet.
The same men's and women's departments that were
spread through the old six-floor store on 0 St. is consoli
dated on two levels at The Atrium.
The store has no formal showroom windows, but fea
tures a club-type atmosphere, complete with living
room furniture and fireplace, ,
Wooden staircase
A heavy wooden staircase leads to a 1 ,000 square foot
mezzanine level and the second level. '
The Daisy, with 2,800 square feet of space sits on The
AtriumV second level. It features junior and contempo
ary fashions for women.
Joffe's is a street-level shop specializing in women's

career clothing. It features a wooden spiral staircase to the
store's second level.
The grand opening of the Atrium is scheduled for Nov
ember at which time most of the stores will be open, he
said.

It is an annual requirement that ail UNL
student organizations, honoraries, and honor
societies file no later than 10-1-77 updated
information with the Office of Student
Activities, 200 Nebraska Union. This
information must include the names,
addresses, and phone numbers of the
organizations'presidont, treasurer, and
faculty advisor. Using this information the
Office of Student Activities will publish by
10-15-77 a complete list of UNL student
organizations under either an "active" or
"inactive" status. Organizations who filo this
information and meet all other requirements
will be granted dcttvo status and will bo
accorded full privileges on campus I.e., tho
right to conduct campus activities and events,
use campus facilities etc. Organizations failing
to file will bo placed on an inactivo status.Such
organizations will have no campus priyilnno?.,
Organizations with inactivo statuses at the
end of a two (2) year period will havo
recognition as an organization withdrawn.
Forms to bo used for information filing are
available in room 200. Nebraska Union
