Wednesday, august 24, 1977 Students, animals to get new home UNL veterinary science students as well as cattle and pigs will have a change of surroundings this semester at UNL's East Campus. The veterinary science dept. has completed its move to a new $8 million Animal Health Research Center, a four building complex located .on the northeast edge of East Campus.. Funded by the 1974 Nebraska Legislature, the build ings include the Veterinary Diagnostic Center, Animal Health Research Building, Veterinary Basic Science Build ing and the Animal Holding Bam. . . Veterinary Science Dept. Chairman . Earl Dickinson, who recently replaced retired Marvin Twiehaus, said the old buildings, built in 1920, were "tremendously outmoded and substandard." "It (the move) gave us the opportunity to expand our research work studying diseases of Nebraska livestock," Dickinson said. "We are better equipped and can upgrade our teaching." The program expansion included the addition of five new staff members, he said. Cattle, pigs and other "animals are housed in the complex so students can experiment with Various live stock diseases, he said. . Most of the old four-buflding Veterinary Science Complex, will be torn down, according to Bob Pazderka, NU capital construction coordinator. Two of the buildings already have been removed, one will be demolished soon and the fourth will remain until a decision is made, Pazderka said, rMMfF-nwi-M-tnTili mm m mmm m w'tn n imhuw mi 8 0 r 10 mm u TAP ANT SAUCES MILD, HOT, EXTRA HOT Pls Sptcilf A LA CARTE TACOS(ordaro3) 1.10 ENCHILADAS (order ol 3) ... 1 .30 BEAN BURRlTO (order of 3) . 1 .50 BEAN TOSTADO (order of 3) 1 ,50 Comb.
