The bold bright colors of .women's,
casual wear warm the fashion scene and
usher out the wintery snows in a stream of

Melt the icy doldrums of the past

eyelet, embroidery and a satin ribbon
create a delicate springtime look. Welcome
the start of the blossoming season with one

For sunlovers, the perennial halter is on

that crazy strapless pull-on elasticized top,
can be picked up for about $3. Go it alone
in one of these skimpy numbers to soak
up some of the early season rays, or layer
it under a crisp gingham blouse of plaid

$15.
Make a bright addition to your jean col
lection with a pair of jeans trimmed at
the seams in colorful contrast stitching. Or
invest a few wise dollars in the latest
hottest-selling innovation to the blue jean
market-leather. Used to trim and accent
seams, pockets and waistbands, leather
costa a little more (about $28) than the
average pair of jeans but adds a distinctive
look to a basic wardrobe staple.
Springy shorts
What would spring be without shbrts?
Pick up a few pair in basic denim or the
.latest favorite, terry cloth, for around $8
to $14. For a snappy accent, clip on a pair
of suspenders for about $6.
Tired of the old mix-and-match shirt
and pant routine? Jump into something
new with the one-piece playsuits which are
filling the racks. Actually, a cut-off version
of the jumpsuit popular last year, these
one-piece rompers make anytime playtime.
Belted, pocketed, zipped or buttoned,
playsuits can be picked up for a price in
the $15 range.
Jumpsuits have not been forgottn, and
are available in a number of crisp cotton
styles. For a more daring look for '77, pick
up a strapless denim jumpsuit and some
admiring glances for about $30.
Cure spring fever with a dose of the
frilly floral sundresses popping up in cloth
ing stores. Made of crisp, cool cotton with
puckered -bodices, ruffled sleeves to be
worn on or off the shoulder, and yards of
eyelet and lace trim, sundresses are as ap
propriate for wearing to class or work as
for picknicking in the park. These dresses,
certain to capture any feminine fancy, cost
anywhere from $20 to $28.
Gauchos Q racks
Gaucho sets have made the winter tran
sition and fill the . racks with springtime
colors and lightweight fabrics. Denim is
one of the most popular offerings in this
style, as its versatility makes it the perfect
fashion answer for those occasions when
the old standard ensembles just won't quite
do. For an investment of around $30,
denim gauchos and matching vest can ex
pand your wardrobe and offer a big fashion
plus at the same time.
The blazing sunny days of late spring
and summer are still around the corner, but
until 70 and 80 degree weather becomes
common, keep off the nippy spring chill
with a nylon windbreaker in vibrant,
fashionable colors for about $14. Shiny
vinyl slickers are big fashion news this
