International Banking In Nebraska could
bccoma a new and profitable venture, ac
cording to Thomas rotter, vies president of
international banking at the National Bank
of Commerce.
Fottsr was keynote speaker Wednesday
at the UNL International Studies Institute
and U.S. State Dept. -sponsored conference
on foreign policy in Latin America and
Africa. He &Id Nbraa could and should
invest in ajriculturd endeavors in under-,
developed countries.
It would be a perfect match-up
because Nebraska is very unique in that
they have the rare ability to coordinate
the agricultural and business world in a
very workable way, he said.

too much emphasis on industry and placed
little or no emphasis on food production.

techniques are abroad , he said.
"I dent think this is that serious be

produce it so we can be of assistance," he
said.

markets for Nebraska banks because of the grants, so overseas financing is the logical
t" ricultural knowledge and those source for markets.
Recently, loans and grants are pending
with Venezuela, as contacts have been
made in that country by manufacturing
companies in-this area, tie added.
This is the way of the future as banks
will be looking more and mora to foreign
markets for loan and grant opportunities,
he said.
