First annual state tacqusibal! tourney to be in Lincoln
The fust Nebraska State Racquetball
(Championships will be Friday through
Sunday at the Sports Courts, 222 N. 14th
St.
The tournament has 173 entries,
according to publicity chairman Pat Kor
bus. "Most of the players are from Lincoln
and Omaha," Korbus said. "But we do
have some from Grand Island and others as
far away as Scottsbluff."
Korbus said there have been state cham

nized by the United States Racquetball
Association (USRA).
"This will be the first state tournament
under the newly crg&iized Nebraska
Racquetball Association (NRA), Korbus
said. -
"Dick Kincaide, the manner of the
Sports Courts, went to a mcstfcs of USRA
court managers to see if we could hold
the Midwest regional in Lincoln. They said
we could only if wo formed a state associa
tion of our own. That's how the NRA got
started," he said.
The Midwest regionals will be at the
Sports Courts March 31 through April 3.
Divisions for play in the state tourna
ment will be for men and women, singles
and doubles.
