It is important to provide" as many avenues for student in volvement as possible. However, many organizations have difficulty in consistently achieving quorums. ASUN cannot recruit enough students to' fill its committee open ings. Perhaps students legitimately feel that not all of these committees are worthwhile. Every organization on campus with which I am familiar must continually question which projects and issues are within its jurisdiction. Meaningful guidelines do not seem to exist. , I ASUN makes tppointments to a great number of com AtTAf A rnittces. This system would work well because it allows w students to become involved in areas which hold interest for them. However, ASUN has appointed students to com mittees which have never met. Student government at this university and all the avenues for student input need to be reevaluated. Judith Siminoe Losers weepers I have a complaint about the Daily Nehraskan 's policy toward classified advertisements concerning 'foundw items. When I found a set of keys in the Selleck meter lot last week; I called the Daily Nebraskan to place an ad in the "Lost and Found" section of the classified ads. I talked to a number of the staff who first informed me that "found" ads were a free service, but, upon discussion with other staff members, told me I would have to pay for the ad. Not only would I have to pay, but I had to have the money to the office by 2 p.m. (it was now 12:45 p.m.). Since I hold a job and have to be to work by 1 p.m., I was not about to go through the trauma of finding a parking place just to take $1.40 to the Daily Nehraskan office for an ad that Theresa might not even see. So I delivered the keys to the Campus Police headquarters, who were very helpful and cooperative. My point is this: for being a student-oriented, student supported newspaper, the Daly Nebraskan does not really cater to the needs of the students it serves. Theresa probably didn't (or won't) get her keys back as fast as she could have if she or a friend had seen the ad. This policy discourages honest people from attempting to return to the rightful owner important items that might have been lost or mislaid. Theresa, I hope you finally got your keys back.
