Today's student...
Four years ago, while his barefooted parents cried, Zig
neb Polanski came to college. He moved into Abel Hall,
found all but one of his classes, and leaped into the rich
cultural life of the campus.
During those years Zigneb grew up. He learned to
conceptualize, prioritize and systematize. Wine, women
and Incompletes for grades filled his cup of joy with a
hearty draught -until it leaked.
The chill winds of Lincoln greeted Zigneb for the last
time this January, because he will be graduated this
spring.
Pausing for a moment, Zigneb reflected on the values
of his education.
"UNL constantly opened new doors for me and then
closed them in my face.
"In fact," he added wistfully, "I'd rather go to the
college than eat paint chips."
Here, then, is our pictorial salute to the last of the
great students, Zigneb Polanski.
