"We like to think we can beat them every time," Blocker said. "They're a little more experienced and maybe a little deeper, but I don't think depth will be all that important. Our U-arounders are stronger and that's what's important."' Blocker said with the addition of freshman Jody Raymond to UNL's all around performers, the Huskers have become a deeper team. "Our all-arounders are a lot better at this point in the year," Blocker said. Mark Williams, another freshman, hit 51.8 points at Colorado last week and Larry Gerard has become much more con sistent, he said. "Williams is going for 52 points against ISU." Blocker said that any time an all arounder hits 50 points he has performed well. This will be the second meeting of the two teams this season. ISU nipped the Huskers in Lincoln on Oct. 23, 210.90 210.15. Blocker said the Huskers are more experienced now than at that time. "We've been counting on freshmen all year," Elocker said. "When you have four of them in your line-up you have to. "We're more experienced through small improvements," he said. "Fine tuning if you will." . Performances in the" pommel horse and parallel bar events will be crucial to the Huskers effort in Ames, Elocker said. "We are going to have to hit on the pommel horse this time," he said. "We did score 34 points against Colorado on the horse which helped our confidence some." ISU will perform without their top a!! arounder at the meet. Tiger Taylor of the Cyclones suffered pulled muscles last week and will not compete as an all-arounder. Scotty Evans will be their top all arounder, said Blocker; Both he and Bill Boslet score - consistently in the 50s. Blocker also mentioned defending Big 8 Conference champion in the vault, Mark Trippel, and defending national champion in the still rings, Doug Wood, as 4SU's big threats. The meet begins at 2 p.m. and will be broadcast on the NETV network.
