Mrs. Cad Rc&msi went before the board Jan. 8 to request thit liquor be served at membership functions at Sheldon, V Rohman said the resents considered the request fairly, but they may not have realized that only wine would be served and that it would be served only four or five times a year. Her request was denied by the regents 7 to 1 with Schuyler Regent Kerniit Vajner voting in favor of the motion. Allowing the art association to serve liquor at its functions would set a bad precedent, the regents sdd, and other pcups would, mike similar requests. Rehrasn tsid attendance at preview openings would be increased if liquor were served. As it now stands, she said, previews must be at the Lincoln Hilton Hotel or the University, Gub. Rohman said the regents' may recon sider her request at a later date when they have more information presented to them. Coffey said the loop, which routes all LTS buses down 11th, Q, 14th and I streets, comes within one block of the university campus. LTS is not breaking even with the 30 cent fare charged, Coffey said, and "the more riders, the better the bus service." In addition to putting LTS posters on campus bulletin boards and providing bus schedules in the Unions, Coffey said, the UNL business office worked with LTS to construct the temporary bus shelter at ' 12 th and Q streets. The property between 12th and 13th on Q St. belongs to the university, he said. . The Nebraska and East Unions and the bursar's office are selling discount bus tokens, he said. A roll of 20 tokens costs $5 or 25 cents a ride. Coffey said posters advertising the loop also have been put up in the inter-campus buses. The buses, also owned by LTS, cost 10 cents to ride. The fare covers 40 per cent of the cost to run the buses, Coffey said, leaving 60 per cent covered by subsidies. - More students are riding the inter-campus bus than last year, an average of 8,000 riders a week, Coffey said. jKS() .ihtTi'N!HV I'M) trJUti-w' viii fwriirsoii ft' ;3flfeteb for JUncIa Scm's Special Annivcrccry Pcjty!,f LJI - wi Ltd Z s . r of 1023 O St. to welcome back students offers .
