. The Nebraska Union Recreation Dept. wl conduct
campus tournaments today through Saturday in men's
and women's billiards table soccer doubles, chess
and'bridge. ;
The winners of each tournament will qualify for a
regional games tournament sponsored by the Association
of College Unions International (ACU-I).
The regional tournament will be Feb. 10 through 12
at Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau,
Mo. Winners on the regional level will advance to a
national tournament.
Pre-registration is required for the tournaments.
Additional information and registration forms are
available at the Union Recreation Desk in the lower level
of the Union. , -
The tournament schedule: women's billiards, 6:30 pjn.
today; men's billiards, 530 pjn. Wednesday; foosbaH
doubles, 630 pm. Tuesday; chess, 9 am. Friday and
2 pjn. Saturday ;bridge. ; .
The Husker wrestling team was led by Cliff Myles in
the Iowa State Invitational Saturday in Ames, Iowa. Myles
".finished second hi the 167-pound class. V
Myles was 2-1 in the tournament. Teammate Rex
Thompson wts 3-1 and finished third in the 142-pcund
class.. Others who placed for Nebraska were BUI Hoffman,
fifth (177); Dan Kling, sixth (167); Jim Calvert, seventh
(167); and Dave Finken, ninth (142).
Husker wrestlers and their tournament records include:
118-Mike Vranich, 3-2 126-Dave Winger, 14 Agron
Vashas 3-2; 134-Pat Arthur, 2-3; Bill Karpowicz, 2-2;

The UNL women's gymnastics team won a triangular
meet Saturday hi Brookings, Si)., tgsinst South Dakota '
State Urivtrsty (SDSU) mi Cemidjl State College,
The Ilusken tabled 1183 points to SBSlTs 107.95
and Ceroidji State's 105.65.
Criry Robertson CrJthed second in the t3arcunj for
the I Itrkers with a 33.20, winning the vault with an 83
and finishing fourth in the floor exercise and balance
beam.
Tammy. DriscoH was tlard in the all-around with a
29.25. She was second in the balance beam (7JS0) and
floor exercise (835) and fourth in the vault
Peggy liddick won the uneven parallel bars with an
8.S0 and SandyCzaplewski won the floor exercise with an
8.55.
The UNL men's basketball team beat the University of
Hawaii last Thursday and Friday and will return to
Lincoln with a 3-2 record for a game against the Univer
sity of Minnesota Wednesday in the UNL Sports Complex.
The Huskers men's gymnastics team finished third in
the Ball State Invitational Saturday in Muncie, Ind. The
Huskers tallied 148.70 points in the meet, trailing only
the University of Oklahoma (OU) with 15630 and
Indiana State with 156.45.
The Huskers were defending champions in the meet.
Leading performers for the Huskers were Larry Gerard,
first in vaulting, second in the horizontal bar, fourth in
the floor exercise and third in the all-around. Duane West
finished third in the floor exercise for UNL.
Olympian Bart. Connor won the all-around, floor
' exercise, parallel bars and horizontal bar to pace OU to
thetitle.
Texas Tech University, the Huskers' opponent in the
Dec. 31 Astro-Elucbcnnet Bowl in Houston, defeated
Baylor University 24-21 Saturday to clinch a share of the
Southwest Conference title. .
The win gave the Red Raiders a 10-1 regular season
mark. Their only loss was to the University of Houston,
27-19. Texas Tech was ranked eighth last week.
Tech was led by quarterback Rodney "Little General"
Alison. He carried the ball 11 times for 106 yards and
two touchdowns and completed 9 of 16 passes for 122
yards.
