A sculpture of a Playboy bunny seems the most
unrealistic in the exhibit. It appears obviously plastic,
which somehow enhances the effect.
I'm not sure if there is a dominant mood to the ex
hibit. Reactions varied from an honest laughter or nervous
giggle to a serious silence.
It is a credit to the exhibit that it receives such a wide
response.
Wax figures, which are about the closest parallel to
this type of work, can be ineffective. There is always a
sense of unreality to them. -
One of the more interesting comments I heard was
from a" mortician, who after briefly studying one of the
creations, stepped back and shook his head and said, "I
wish I could do that good of a job."
I have to shake my head, and head back into the
time warp. Incredible.

The second half will feature music by American
composers, according to Jack Snider, conductor of the
ensemble and director of bands at UNL.
Three of the selections will have multiple parts.
"Compositions such as Scenes from the Louvre depict
specific works of art and the fabric of the piece would not
be complete if one part were left out," Snider said.
The program wEl include nine compositions, including
Valdrcs Norwegizn March, by Johannes Hanssen,
Variations on a Theme by Haydn, by Johannes Brahms
id Scenes from the Louvre by Norman Dello Joio.
