The people really care about each other. That is one benefit of living in Smalltown, Neb. The rush and impersonated life of the city hasn't yet crept into the numerous, scattered oases in Nebraska, usually sporting a post office, a grocery store or two, a small newspaper and a few other businesses. The main entertainment for the high school students is to "cruise main," er, that is, to drive up and down the streets, waving and honking at friends, trying out their citizen band radios and avoiding the local cops.
