A SUM lt e n r COHfp 0(3 !S irilpifi; is XCfl most successful semester ever About two-thirds of the 2,700 books brought to the AS UN book exchange this semester were sold, according to ASUN Senate Secretary Annette Sorenson, an unde clared sophomore from Crofton. This probably was the most successful semester the ex change has had since its start five years ago, said Paul Morrison, ASUN second vice-president. But he said he could not give a dollar estimate of the business. "With the closing of Campus Bookstore and the high price of books, students are looking for a better means to sell their books," the graduate student from St. Paul said. The exchange is operated by the Senate Standing Com mittee for Student Services, and is a "mediator" between students selling books and students buying them, Soren son said. ASUN senators and volunteers work at the ex change, she added. Students mark the price they want in books and leave them at the exchange. All money collected is returned to the students and ASUN Senate receives no profit. Soren son said. History, English, sociology and psychology books were the most common books available this semester, she said. The sociology and English books probably sold the most Sorenson added. The exchange had few health or law books or medical dictionaries, she said. Owners can claim unsold books this week in the ASUN Senate office in the Nebraska Union. In the past, remaining books were kept and sold the next semester, Sorenson said. This year, senate executives may decide to donate remaining books to a charity or to the Nebraska Penal Complex, Morrison said. If the books are sold and the money unclaimed, the Senate will try to contact students and send them their money, he said. coJsndof Weather Monday: Mostly cloudy and colder with a chance of snow flurries.
