The Inter-Cooperative Council (ICC) has elected
Robert Nielsen, a junior agronomy major, as its 1976
president. Nielsen, who is from Springfield, currently is
president of the Brown Palace cooperative. Karen Jensen,
a sophomore food and nutrition major from Hubbard, will
serve as ICC vice-president and Robert Miller, a junior
agronomy major from Springfield, is secretary-treasurer.
Jensen is a Love Memorial Hall resident and Miller lives in
Cornhusker Co-op.
ICC coordinates the five university-approved coopera
tive living units: Ag Men, Brown Palace, Cornhusker
Co-op, Love Memorial Hall and Pioneer House. The
council has operated since 1955, although three of the
living units have existed since the early 1940s.
Nielsen said ICC V functions are to promote
cooperative living at UNL, to provide for the idea ex
changes between co-ops and to provide social activities for
members.
"As cheap as it is (to live in a cooperative), I don't
se,e why more students aren't joining co-ops," he said,
