bills begin !
Legislative committees begin public hearings on new
bills Thursday. Notices of hearings and bills to be heard
will be printed regularly in the Daily Nebraskan. All hear
ings begin at 2 p jn. unless otherwise noted.
Bicyclists may be interested in a Public Works Commit
tee hearing Thursday on LB 628. That bill would repeal
what Lincoln Sen. Roland Luedtke called "the most ridic
ulous law passed by the Legislature two years ago."
The law required that all bicycles be equipped with re
flective tires after Jan. 1, 1976. He said some senators and
state and local safety groups may want to amend or retain
other provisions of the law requiring bicycle reflectors.
A spokesman for a local bike shop said he and other
dealers will speak for repeal of the law. He said reflective
tires are more expensive, but are of inferior quality
compared to regular tires.

Friday, March 5, is the last day to file drops for all

It was incorrectly reported in Monday's Daily

for lab classes and March 5 would be the last day to drop
non-lab classes.
