East Union posts open
Interviews for five executive positions
on the East Union Program Council will be
Sunday from 2 to 5 pjn. at the East
Union, according to Ron Burrus, East
Union manager.
The council has 15 members, Burrus
said. Positions open axe president, vice
president, secretary, program coordinator,
and financial coordinator. The new execu
tives will choose the remaining ten mem
bers, who will be council committee chair
persons, he added.
Executives will be chosen by two cur
rent members of the East Union Program
Council, two representatives from the
Union Board, which governs both the East
Union and Nebraska Union on City
Campus, and Burrus, he said.
The executives will be notified of their
acceptance the day of the interviews, and
will take office two weeks later after a
training course.
Burrus said the new councfl will be
instrumental in establishing policies and
budgets for the new East Union, which
will open next fall.
Most members of past councils have
lived on East Campus, Burrus said, adding
that he encourages anyone to apply for the
positions by signing up for an interview
appointment at the East Union Office.
"Sometimes if people aretO that close
ly involved with happenings on East
Campus, they will have some new and
unique ideas," he said.
