"We wanted to show that there are many influences and impacts that Eastern philosophies have had on Western culture," Boatman said. The film wfil present the words and life styles of 10 international spfritual leaders to show influences of Eastern philosophy and spiritualism on the W&rt. . Five-Ofictor TChlgh Alx Dhiegh, probably best known as Wo Fat on Hawaii Five-O, will speak on "Acupuncture and Aspects of I dling" Sept. 18 at 3:30 pjn. in the Union Ball room. Dhiegh currently is director of the I Ching Institute in Los Angeles. Dhiegh will conduct informal sessions: at 1 pjn. in the Luthem Studwic Center, . 538 N. 16th SU and at 7:30 pjn. in the Centennial CoDegc Commons Room, Neihardt Residence Tenter, 540 N. 16th; - ' An Indian sarodist, AH Akbar IChan, will perform in concert Sept 23 at 8 p sa. in the Union Centennial Room. The sarod is a 25 string Indian instrument composed of major and sympametic strings and played with -a coconut shell pick. Audience members are asked to bring pillows or mats to add to the mood of the music, Boatman said. Tickets are $130 for UNL students and $230 for general admission and will be sold at the door. Awakening The final event of the symposium will be Ram Dass speaking on "The Process of Spiritual Awakening." A former psycho therapist and researcher in LSD and other drugs.
