Bicentennial teaching methods emphasize future and past The N meaning of the Bicentennial is as much in the past as in the future, according to William Sesow, director of a summer workshop concerning America's 200th birthday. "Nebraska at Two Hundred Years" is for elementary and secondary school teachers to : find ways of highlighting the" Bicentennial in their classrooms. The workshop, from July 14, to Aug. 1, is being taught by Sesow and Ruth Weatherl of the Nebraska State Department of Education. East campus gets trial Students living on east campus will be able to walk across the street to get books this year instead of going across town. A branch of Nebraska Bookstore will be opened on 35th and Holdrege streets Aug. 13 on a trial basis, said John Wehr, Nebraska Bookstore manager. The store will be open for three weeks in the fall and again in the spring to test the market and see if there is a need for a store at that Taxation, law seminar planned Taxation and law as applied to business will be among topics at a series of 10 review seminars for accountants to be presented this fall by the College of Business Administration at UN-L The seminars, which will also cover such topics as auditing, computers, basic concepts and theory, advanced theory and recent developments, will be conducted by UN-L faculty or by accounting practitioners. Anyone intending to take the Certified Public Accountants test may register for the seminars. The first series of seminars will begin August 30 and will be held In Lincoln. Some sessions will be held on Saturday tnnrnino. while other programs which require more time for topic development will be scheduled for Friday nights or Saturday afternoons, said Dr. Robert H. Raymond, professor and chairman of the department cf accounting at UN-L. Dr. Raymond noted that questionnaires .sent by his department tor practicing accountants had indicated that there is interest in holding review seminars in the Central Nebraska area. He said tentative plans are being made to hold a series of seminars in the Grand Island-Kearney Hastings area. He Indicated that Prof. George C. Holdren of the.
