Nominations are being
sought for 1 a new
Vice-Chancellor for Agriculture
and Natural resources at the
University of Nebraska
Lincoln. 1 r
Roy G. Arnold is chairman
of the search committee
recently appointed by
Chancellor James Zumberge.
Arnold said the committee is
seeking names of potential
candidates with a Sept. 1
deadline for receipt of
nominations.
The Institute of Agriculture
and Natural Resources was
established, by action of the
Nebraska Legislature in 1972.
The first person named to
the vice-chancellor position
was Duane Acker. Acker has
been named president of
Kansas State University.
The vics-chancellor reports
directly to Chancellor
Zumberge and is responsib'e
for the budget, management
and administrat'on of all
components. of the Institute
; These include, the Cooperative
Extension Service, Experiment
Stations, College of
Agriculture, Conservation and
Survey Division, Nebraska
Water Resources- Research
' Institute and the School of
Technical Agriculture at Curtis.
Members of the search
committee, besides Arnold
who is chairman of the UN-L
Department of Food Science
and Technology, include Larry
Bitne.y, professor of
agricultural economics; David
P. McGill assistant to the Vic?
Chancellor for Agriculture and
Natural Resources; James E.
Novotny, Dodge County
Extension Agent and Patricia J.
Sailor, associate dean of the
College of Home Economics.
Other . members are Lloyd
Young, Southeast District
Extension director, Dwano
Zimmerman, professor of
animal science; Ronald R.
Ross, undergraduate student in
agriculture, Dennis ; Lamm
animal science graduate
student; Kenneth Bader, vice
chancellor for Student Affairs
and three representatives of the
agricultural industry: Paul
Eveland of Ames, Wes Hansen
of North Platte, and John
Kiosterman of David City.
Written nominations should
be forwarded to Arnold, Room
116 H.C. Filley Hall, UN-L,
Lincoln, Nebraska 68503.
The committee will accept
for preliminary screening any
nomination that includes a
brief biographical sketch of the
nominee with his or her
current address, education and
administrative experience.

PictJres and stories for the
1975 depth report were
written and edited by students
in depth reporting, creative
editing and photo-journalism
classes. For their stories, many
students trailed to cities
outside the midwest, including
Washington D.C., Minneapolis,
Chicago, and Rockville, Md,

conference
The 15th annual summer
conference on business
education will be held Friday,
June 13. at the Nebraska
Union on the UN-L campus.
This is a service of the
Department of Business
Education at NU for all
business teachers in Nebraska.
Registration for the conference
will begin at 8:30 a.m. with the
program beginning at 9 a.m.
There is nonregistration fee,
andxall business educators are
made possible through a
$9,000 grant provided by the
Nebraska Division on
Alcoholism. All decisions
about content and treatment
of the topic were made by
students and teachers at the
School o' Journalism.
Copies f the :eport may be
obtained at the journalism
school and at the Nebraska
Division on Alcoholism.
