edibrio Z " ""' "" " mm..m. Uliiiii.ii. . ! .. Dear editor: I confess a generally negative attitude towards the Lincoln Police Department (LTD). For my taste they are needlessly overstaffed and thus oppressive. Perhaps because of my attitude I couldn't help wondering as I read Ron Wylie's article (Daily Nebraskan, April 2) how he so completely misses an obvious fact of measurements. The fact holds that any close measurement of a human system is bound to distort it. . - Wylie did not even consider what seems the likelihood that Garnett and Williams were handpicked officers behaving at their Sunday best. I am willing to believe that they might be "nice guys," but even "nice guys" can get "impatient" (and I strongly suspect the real issue which is making so much noise is just this very "impatience") Wylie's observation couldn't possibly detect this "impatience" because his very presence as a reporter would be a complete and effective deterrent. Gary Papenhagen COULD COST $ 1 50 MORE Dear editor: Recently the administration proposed that each student pav 25 cents every single time he rode the bus. in order to support the bus operation (currently in debt). Since this year's students already have bus passes, we utterly opposed the 25 cent charge for the rest of the year. Some 100 concerned students showed up and voiced opposition at the CSL meeting on the matter. The bus riders did not plan the split campus system and feel it is not their duty to totally support it. A CSL committee was formed and made full recommendations. These were ignored, in principle, only cancelling this year's 25 cent proposal. The fact is that the current recommendation is a 25 cent charge per ride for the next school year. This could cost the bus rider as must as $50-$ 150 extra per school year. I am sure that 2,000 students will not stand for this more or less than get run ober by. it. Herirv NuxoJl WELL HEKZ COMES MX TWO GOOD FfllEMDS FROM 77E MAJOR MllUORITYj LERQYtMTE CllOCUm.
